'Hoo Crew is the student fan group at the University of Virginia. Founded in the fall of 2005, 'Hoo Crew's mission is to enhance game atmosphere at all home Virginia athletics events with an emphasis on Men's Basketball. 'Hoo Crew is funded by its corporate sponsor Alltel, as well as the Virginia Athletics Foundation and the Virginia Athletic Department

'Hoo Crew was founded by students, is run by students, and strives to engage all students at UVA Athletic events.

Daniel Schear Vice-President Third-year Hometown: Cincinnati, OH Favorite UVA Athlete: The easy answer here is Andy Burns. He is a god among men and a gentleman to boot. However, I am going to say Ryan Patrick Mears. He is the backbone of Virginia's cheerleading squad, he anchors our basketball team every home game, and he has the meanest toss I've seen in years. I heard that during one cheerleading practice, he threw his partner so high that Tunji Soroye had to pluck her from the rafters. Favorite Professional Team: Cincinnati Bengals 'Hoo Crew Claim to Fame: I was 'Hoo Crew's first two special events chairs. So I'm pretty proud of the work I've done with the prize events. For our first prize event, we had a few unsigned jerseys, some teddy bears, and some lacrosse posters. Now, we're giving out footballs signed by the whole team, lacrosse helmets, baseballs signed by Virginians gone pro, and other crazy good crap. Also, I randomly created the game 'Hoo Pong at a prize event. It involves basketballs and trash cans. If you weren't there, use your imagination.

Matt Cooper Special Events Chair Third-year Hometown: Cincinnati, OH Favorite UVA Athlete: Cedric Peerman Favorite Professional Team: Cincinnati Reds Hoo Crew Claim to Fame: Attended UVA basketball road game at Xavier and stayed through the entire game, despite the fact that we lost 108-70.

 

Erica Andersen Public Relations Chair Third-year Hometown: Waynesboro, VA Favorite UVA Athlete: Will Harris Favorite Professional Team: Green Bay Packers, yes, even without Favre Hoo Crew Claim to Fame: Fixing the website this summer after it got so messed up.
