'Hoo Crew is the student fan group at the University of Virginia. Founded in the fall of 2005, 'Hoo Crew's mission is to enhance game atmosphere at all home Virginia athletics events with an emphasis on Men's Basketball. 'Hoo Crew is funded by its corporate sponsor Verizon Wireless, as well as the Virginia Athletics Foundation and the Virginia Athletic Department

'Hoo Crew was founded by students, is run by students, and strives to engage all students at UVA Athletic events.

Ben Fitts Vice-President Second-year Hometown: Crozet, VA Favorite UVA athlete: Tiki Barber Favorite Professional Team: Washington Redskins, HTTR 'Hoo Crew "Claim to Fame": Maker of the "Mediocrity...it GROHs on you" sign displayed at the UVA vs. TCU football game on September 12th, 2009. Noah Scherz Membership Chair Third-year Hometown: Hotlanta Favorite athlete: let me think about it Favorite professional team: Braves baby Hoo Crew "Claim to Fame": I spent an hour on the phone in Paris this past summer negotiating with a french speaking concierge at my hotel trying to get Pay-per-view ESPN America so that I could watch Virginia in the College world series. I don't speak french but I worked it out.

Also, rushed the field after the '95 Florida State game at the tender age of 7.

 

Erica Andersen Public Relations Chair Fourth-year Hometown: Waynesboro, VA Favorite UVA Athlete: Sammy Zeglinski Favorite Professional Team: Green Bay Packers, yes, even without Favre Hoo Crew Claim to Fame: Fixing the website this summer after it got so messed up.

 

Jacob Pankey Hype Chair Second-year Hometown: Harrisonburg, VA Favorite UVa. Athlete: Chris Long Favorite Professional Team: Washington Capitals/Redskins. With the Redskins in their current state I don't think they count as a second professional team. Hoo Crew "Claim to Fame": Hit a 3 while being covered by Assane Sene in a game behind Cauthen. He wasn't taking the game very seriously.

Bryan Layman Orange Passport Chair Third-year Hometown: Charlottesville, VA Favorite UVA Athlete: David Newman for bringing back Rec Specs Favorite Professional Team: Boston Red Sox Hoo Crew Claim to Fame: Going to a UVA lacrosse game in the pouring rain over spring break. One of two actual UVA students at the game and no Sabre points were awarded.
